Is It a Plumbing Emergency?

If water or sewage is going somewhere it shouldn't and you can't stop it, call now. If the problem is contained, it can usually wait for a scheduled visit.

Is it a plumbing emergency?
Call now, day or night Can usually wait for a scheduled visit
A burst or leaking pipe you can’t stopA dripping faucet
Water near outlets, appliances, or your electrical panelOne slow drain while other fixtures work
Sewage backing up into tubs, showers, or floor drainsA toilet that runs but doesn’t overflow
A toilet still overflowing after you close its valveLow water pressure at one fixture
A water heater leaking from the tankNo hot water with no leak (call if you need it tonight)
No water to the whole propertyA noisy pipe or water heater
Signs of a slab leak: a warm spot on the floor, the sound of running water, or a meter moving with everything offPlanning a repipe or water heater replacement

Smell gas? Don't use switches or phones inside. Leave the building, then call 911 and Peoples Gas at 877-832-6747 (24/7). Call us after the gas company has made the area safe.

What to Do Right Now, Before the Plumber Arrives

  1. Stop the water. Close the valve behind the toilet or under the sink first. If that doesn’t stop it, close the main shutoff. Most Tampa Bay homes sit on concrete slabs with no basement, so the main valve is usually where the water line enters the house: on an outside wall near a hose bib, or in the garage. In a condo, check near your water heater or utility closet, or call building maintenance.
  2. Stay away from water and electricity together. If water is near outlets or the panel, keep out of the area. Turn off the breaker only if you can reach it while standing on a dry surface.
  3. Shut down a leaking water heater. For electric, switch off its breaker. For gas, turn the control knob to Off or Pilot. Then close the cold-water valve on top of the tank.
  4. During a sewage backup, stop using water. Don’t flush, shower, or run the washer or dishwasher. Every gallon you use comes back up the lowest drain. Keep children and pets out of the contaminated area.
  5. Protect your property and document it. Move valuables, soak up standing water, and take photos and video for your insurance claim before cleanup.

Emergency Plumbing Problems We Handle

  • Burst pipes and active leaks: Broken pipes, failed shutoff valves, and main water line leaks. We stop the water, repair the damage, and recommend a repipe when old pipes keep failing.
  • Sewer backups and main drain clogs: Sewage coming up through toilets, tubs, showers, or floor drains. We clear the blockage with professional drain cleaning and hydro jetting, then run a camera inspection to check for possible damage that needs repair.
  • Failed or leaking water heaters: Leaking tanks, broken connections, failed heating parts, or sudden loss of hot water. We provide water heater repair and installation for tank, tankless, gas, electric, and hybrid units.
  • Slab leaks and hidden water line leaks: Leaking pipes under concrete slabs, behind walls, and beneath floors. A sudden jump in your water bill is often the first sign. We locate the leak and repair it.
  • Overflowing toilets and stubborn clogs: Toilets that overflow or keep backing up, and clogs a plunger won’t clear. We find the cause, clear it, and repair faulty toilet parts.
  • Commercial plumbing emergencies: Backed-up restrooms, overflowing floor drains, and broken water lines at restaurants, offices, retail stores, condos, and apartment communities. We fix commercial plumbing problems fast so they don’t disrupt business or tenants.

Prompt and professional service for a weekend evening call. Yoan was quickly dispatched, and communicative throughout the service. Rather than just fix the problem he educated me on the issue and what to do next time. All hours is my new plumbing service in Tampa.

I unfortunately had a plumbing emergency situation in my second floor guest bathroom. A water leak was filtering from second floor and onto my garage on the first floor. I called All Hours and they sent a great professional my way! He was able to come expeditiously and fix a broken tub spout. Vinnie was very professional and courteous. He performed an excellent job and crafted extensive documentation required for my insurance adjuster!

Our shower would not turn off and it was 8pm on a Friday. James showed up just over an hour after calling and fixed the shower. Amazing work and customer service. Will only call them for any plumbing issues we need. Highly, highly recommend!

Plumbing Emergencies We See Most in Tampa Bay

Slab Leaks: Most homes here are built on a concrete slab, so a leaking supply line can run under the floor for weeks before anyone notices. Common signs include a warm spot on tile, the sound of water running with every fixture off, or a water bill that jumps for no reason.

Aging Cast Iron Drains: Many older homes in neighborhoods like Seminole Heights and South Tampa still have original cast iron drain lines. As they corrode and crack, roots get in and backups follow, often all at once.

Backups During Heavy Rain: Summer storms and hurricane season can push sewer and drain systems past capacity. If drains gurgle or back up during a storm, stop using water and call.

Condos and Businesses: In a condo or high-rise, a leak quickly becomes your neighbor’s ceiling. Shut off your unit and call. For restaurants and commercial kitchens, a backed-up line during service means lost revenue. We work with owners, managers, and associations to fix it fast.
